What should I wear?

We recommend you wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions (it may be windy at the airfield). We also advise people to wear sensible footwear. Flip flops, unfortunately will not be allowed for safety reasons.

Where are you based?

We are based at Wickenby Aerodrome, Langworth, Lincoln LN3 5AX. We are 15 minutes north of Lincoln town centre by car. 5 minutes off the A158 road towards Wragby.
The Aerodrome is a great place to visit for an enjoyable day trip or just to pop in for a cup of tea or coffee. The RAF Wickenby Memorial Collection museum in the Control Tower is free entry and contains lots of relics, photographs and documents from Wickenby’s war time involvement. By the gate as you enter, the Icarus Memorial stands as a permanent reminder of the lives given during the war. Many original features are still present on the old airfield, which are best viewed from the air.

What time should I arrive?

We tell all our customers to arrive at least 30 minutes before their allocated time slot. This is to allow us time to sign you in and give you a pilot brief before your flight experience.

Can I take pictures during my flight?

Outside the critical stages of flight feel free to take as many pictures as you like.

Is the experience weather dependent?

There are several weather factors that can restrict the ability for your flight to go ahead, to ensure that safety is the key priority. You will be contacted on the morning of your flight if your flight is to be postponed. We also advise you to contact the team at Lincoln Flight to confirm the weather is suitable before setting off

Take to the Sky

Now would be a great time to take to the sky, soaring above the county of Lincolnshire, which gained the nickname of ‘Bomber County’ because of the number of British, and American bomber airfields that were built there during the Second World War. The remains of many old RAF airfields can still be seen from the sky today.
